Public Marriage Certificate Authorized Copies

Instructions
Section 103526 of the California Health and Safety Code restricts who is allowed to obtain an authorized certified copy of a non-confidential (public) marriage record. When requesting an authorized certified copy, a sworn statement will be required.

Each certified copy request is $17. If no record of the Marriage is found, the $17.00 fee will be retained for searching the record (as required by Health & Safety Code Section 103650) and a Certificate of No Public Record will be issued to the applicant.

Those who are not authorized need to apply for an INFORMATIONAL CERTIFIED COPY with the words "INFORMATIONAL, NOT A VALID DOCUMENT TO ESTABLISH IDENTITY" imprinted across the face of the copy.

I am: One of the parties to the marriage. A parent, legal guardian, child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, spouse, or domestic partner of one of the registrant. (Legal guardians must provide documentation.) A party entitled to receive the record as a result of a court order. (Please Include a copy of the court order with this request.) A member of a law enforcement agency or other governmental agency, as provided by law, who is conducting official business. (Companies representing a government agency must provide authorization from the government agency.) An attorney representing the registrant/registrant's estate, or any person/agency empowered by statute or appointed by a court to act on behalf of the registrant/registrant's estate (Please include supporting documentation identifying you as executor.) None of the above, and I am applying for an INFORMATIONAL CERTIFIED COPY with the words "INFORMATIONAL, NOT A VALID DOCUMENT TO ESTABLISH IDENTITY" imprinted across the face of the copy.
